Not only does the facility strive to provide excellent care for its patients, it strives to foster relationships with them, as well. By treating the patients in their care with kindness and respect, staff members are able to provide a safe place for the residents to live.

Ross students volunteered to have lunch with some of the residents. All the volunteers enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the residents while sharing a meal, and the residents enjoyed having visitors. The experience was especially wonderful for Brianah Harris, Admissions Representative.

“A few years ago I [used] to work for Life Care, so to be able to go back was a great feeling. I was able to be lunch buddies with residents [who] I was familiar with, and to be able to listen to their stories about their lives was truly the best part of it all,” shared Brianah.

Patricia Pizano, Medical Assistant student, was among the Lunch Buddy volunteers. She found the experience to be very enjoyable. Patricia said, “I’m blessed to have taken time out of my day to eat lunch with and learn about the [residents’] lives. I would definitely go back. They were very generous!”

More information about Life Care Center of Fort Wayne can be found at lifecarecenteroffortwaynein.com.

One of the most rewarding things someone can do is volunteer their time, and Ross students from the Fort Wayne…
Read More

[2
