The man, Luke Mickelson, is the founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization dedicated to providing children with beds, sheets, and pillows when they would otherwise go without.

Along with the Assistant Campus Director of Education, Jessica Schofield, Andrea helped organize a drive to collect supplies to help replenish what was stolen. The Medical Assistant students worked together to collect bedding for the organization whose motto is “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”

With 137 chapters across 40 states, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has been able to support hundreds of children by making sure they are provided with a brand new bed, sheets, and pillows. With support from volunteers to build beds and donate bedding, the organization takes requests from the community to ensure each child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

Medical Assistant students were eager to help out. Kelsey Troglen shared, “This is a great cause, and even my aunt wanted to help purchase sheet sets, as well.”

Staff and students were able to gather ten twin sheet sets, five pillows, blankets, and a comforter to donate to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Jessica noted that the campus hopes to collect items for Sleep in Heavenly Peace again in the future. She said, “I think this event motivated a lot of the students we have who are mothers and people who have a heart for children. We hope that next time we do a drive for SHP, we can collect and donate even more items to this great cause!”

When Huntsville, AL Office Assistant, Andrea Percle-Navarre, came across a story about a local man whose warehouse was broken into…
Read More

[2
