Sack Suppers is a program that provides school-aged kids with bagged meals to take home with them to ensure they have an evening meal. Ross students went above and beyond to help out the wonderful cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids\u2019 Food Basket\u2019s Sack Suppers is a beneficial program, as it provides food to kids who may not otherwise have anything to eat after school. More than 8,000 children receive food daily from the Kids&#8217; Food Basket West Michigan, serving 47 area schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>West Michigan, the area where the Grand Rapids campus is located, faced a particularly rough winter. There were bitterly cold temperatures and a record number of snow days for many schools. Some schools in the area opened up their cafeterias despite school being canceled so that they could provide hot meals and pass out Sack Suppers to those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, Ross students and staff collected staples like soup, granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, and mac and cheese to donate to Kids\u2019 Food Basket. In addition to collecting the food, Ross students decorated paper bags with messages of encouragement and support so that the kids would be given a kind message along with their meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is wonderful to see how often the Ross community steps up to help out their own local communities.
