\t\t\t\t\"Ross<\/a>Ross Medical Education Center<\/a> in Morgantown<\/a> recently held a food drive benefiting the local food pantry at Scott\u2019s Run Settlement House<\/a>. The campus had a goal to donate at least 200 food items to the organization. Students from all three programs, Medical Assistant<\/a>, Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration<\/a>, and Pharmacy Technician<\/a>, worked together to meet and exceed their goal as a campus. They were able to donate over 200 items to the food pantry that will come in handy in serving area families through 350 Thanksgiving baskets being prepared just as the holidays approach.<\/p>\n

\"Ross<\/a>The campus has worked with Scott\u2019s Run each year since its opening three years ago. Every year they strive to collect more items than the year before to help this organization continue to support those struggling in the community. The Scott\u2019s Run Settlement House, built in 1927, has been helping the poor and needy of the community for nearly 100 years. They seek to help through filling the most basic of needs, as well as offering opportunities for education, information, and recreation.<\/p>\n

The Scott\u2019s Run Settlement House food pantry is one of the largest and busiest in Mon County. Last year, they served over 7,000 of the hungry in their community. The recipients of the grocery and personal care items also meet regularly with social workers to ensure that all of their needs are met and that they are provided with information and access to other community agencies in the county and state. The Morgantown campus has loved working with Scott\u2019s Run and looks forward to continuing the tradition in the future. One student said, \u201cIt is always great when we are able to work within the community by donating through food and clothing drives and participation in community activities.\u201d<\/p>\n
