\t\t\t\t\"Ross<\/a>During the cold months of the year, many Ross Medical Education Center<\/a> campuses are working hard to support those in need in their community. The Davison<\/a> campus is no different. However, the grateful recipients of their goodwill this winter are furry and four-legged. The students, faculty, and staff at the campus are currently wrapping up hosting a Pet Supply Drive that has been going on throughout the month of January. After the excitement of the holidays, many times families find themselves in difficult financial situations, and they are forced to get rid of their pets or they choose to abandon them. This sad scenario inspired those at the Davison campus to choose to sponsor two rescue locations: The Lapeer County Animal Shelter and Forever Friends Rescue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Ross<\/a>The Lapeer County Animal Shelter is a local shelter that houses many types of animals that are abandoned or lost in the Lapeer County area. Forever Friends Rescue is a foster care for pets that have not yet been matched with their forever family. The foster care parents take in these pets, treat them like family, and provide every need out of their own pocket. This creates a far better scenario for these pets than the alternative of being cooped up in cages at a shelter. Since its opening in 2008, Forever Friends Rescue has placed more than 1,100 pets into their forever homes!<\/p>\n

\"Ross<\/a>The drive has had a wonderful turnout with many pet supplies donated by students, faculty, and staff. They accepted food, litter, treats, old\/new blankets, old towels, collars, leashes, and cleaning supplies to donate to the shelter and the rescue center. Bob Keeler, Campus Director in Davison, was enthusiastic about the drive saying, \u201cIt\u2019s been a great success!\u201d In addition to the drive, they also decided to create a pet picture wall in the campus hallway. The wall is for everyone on the campus to bring in and hang up a photo of their pet so that they can show off their animals and see everyone else\u2019s as well!<\/p>\n
