Over the last decade, the connected offices have taken many externs and hired nearly as many graduates from both the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration and Medical Assistant programs. This site offers a variety of both administrative and clinical skills to Ross externs and graduates. The Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration students have commented that they enjoy the opportunity to learn all the billing aspects the office offers. The Medical Assistant students also enjoy this facility because it allows them more in-depth training aside of what they have learned in the classroom. Both settings are fast paced and demand that the students are sharp on their skills, quick on their feet, and fast learners. The environment is very professional and family-oriented. The staff also works hard to make sure that externs and grads always feel welcome and are able to keep building their skills!

To find out more, read the interview below with Shannon Beckley, Medical Biller and Direct Contact at E-Medical Notes:

What do you like about having Ross externs come to your office?
I like that Ross has externs coming out at different times, so we don’t have to wait an entire year to get an extern.

What is something you like about working with Ross?
I like working with Ross because it’s very easy. I just call our contact person, and she already knows what I need. She knows the type of extern or graduate we want and how we work. So she knows which students to send that would best fit our situation.

How is the Career Services staff at Ross?
The Career Services staff at Ross is very helpful. We have a person that we connect with a lot. All my billers and an extern I currently have are from Ross; she knows exactly who to send.

How would you describe your experience with having externs from Ross?
Having externs is very convenient, and it’s actually a great refresher. Getting a new person in forces everyone to go back over the basics.

Overall, how would you assess the success rate of Ross externs and graduates?
Their success rate is very high here. We give them the tools that they need and they do great.

What’s the main advantage of hiring a Ross graduate?
There are no bad habits. We get them fresh, and we can train them to do things the way that we need them done.

If it weren’t for Ross graduates, how would your office be affected?
It would be very difficult to get help. I don’t like to hire right off the street without feeling them out first. I like to see how they work and see what they can do.

To learn more about E-Medical Notes and Genesee Urgent Care, visit their websites at http://emedicalnotes.com/ and http://www.geneseeurgentcare.com/.

The Ross Medical Education Center campus in Flint, MI has loved building on their partnership with both E-Medical Notes and…
Read More

[1
