A Medical Assistant graduate, Bianca chose to go to Ross because she knew she needed to get into a meaningful career. She shared, “I always knew the healthcare field was for me. When I reached out to Ross, the staff was great. When I found out I was accepted, that was the boost I needed to get me going. It was hard at first, but then I got the hang of it, plus my teachers were awesome.”

It was helpful that her aunt had graduated from Ross just before she enrolled and told her all about it. She also shared about her teachers and the way that they would push you to be your best, working with you in any area that you needed extra help in. She also knew they wouldn’t pass her through unless she was proficient in all her knowledge and skills, so she was confident that she would leave Ross capable of performing the tasks of a Medical Assistant in the field. She also overcame her fear of needles because of the practice they did in class, and now she is able to perform phlebotomy tasks and give injections confidently.

Before coming to Ross, she had studied at a local community college for a semester, but then she started working. For years, and even through her studies at Ross, she had worked three jobs and struggled to maintain any consistency or schedule. For Bianca, “Ross was definitely a way out.” She worked at two restaurants and did home healthcare. Now, thanks to her training from Ross, she is only working one job as a Medical Assistant, and she loves it. “I love the patents and the doctors,” shared Bianca. On the last day of her externship experience, she was asked to come to the office and offered a full-time position. She was surprised and thrilled at the idea and has loved the challenges and opportunities it has provided.

Bianca is right where she knows she belongs. She has been able to combine her healthcare training with her natural desire to help people. Being able to help her patients, chatting with them and building relationships while taking them to their room or going about the other parts of her job is what brings her joy. She is so thankful for her experience and success as a Medical Assistant, “I would definitely recommend Ross to a friend, because if you are lost in life and don’t know what to do, there are plenty of opportunities for you if you will just apply yourself. If you are there and dedicate yourself, you will begin to love what you’re pursuing. Before attending Ross I was working three jobs and I knew I needed a change. It wasn’t enough money, they were dead-end jobs, I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere.” The Ross staff and faculty are so proud of Bianca her achievements.

A student that stands out in the minds of the staff and faculty at Ross Medical Education Center in Ann…
Read More

[15
