\t\t\t\t\"Ross<\/a>During the month of July, the staff, faculty, and students at the Ross Medical Education Center<\/a> campus in Madison Heights<\/a> collected coloring books, character band-aids, and Crayola crayons for Kids, Crayons, & Colors. At the end of the drive, all of the items were donated to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation<\/a> located inside Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Michigan<\/a> in downtown Detroit. The hospital was thankful for the thoughtful help and donations for their patients and their families.<\/p>\n

\"Ross<\/a>By the end, the campus was able to donate a stack of coloring books, a few storybooks, a grocery bag full of boxes of band-aids with all kinds of cartoons, superheroes, and characters on them, and over 40 boxes of Crayola crayons. The band-aids will be used in the emergency rooms, clinics, and anywhere else needed to add a little life and fun to their visit and hopefully help to make it a more positive one. The coloring books and crayons will come in handy to keep children busy while they’re waiting. Whether they are patients in the waiting rooms waiting to be seen by a doctor or visiting their siblings who are in the hospital, the coloring materials will offer an activity for children.<\/p>\n

The students, staff, and faculty all loved being a part of this drive. They all have a soft spot for children and families in the hospital. “It’s such a great feeling to think that I had a hand in making a kid smile when he sees Spider-Man on the band-aid he gets put on for his cut,\u201d said Michelle Ladouceur, Office Assistant. \u201cTo think that something like that could brighten his day, even for a moment, makes it worth it.” The campus looks forward to future events with this hospital and cause.<\/p>\n
