One of those graduates is Medical Assistant graduate Lauren Judkins from the Madison Heights campus. Lauren says, “I chose Ross because I was sick of dead end jobs, and I wanted something that was going to be stable so that I could actually start a career, a life, and a family.” So, after seeing a Ross commercial, she knew it was the place for her. In fact, she was so sure that she went in and enrolled that day.

Lauren knew from the beginning that she wanted to be a Medical Assistant so that she could work hands-on and directly with patients. She was excited to learn to draw blood and other things like that instead of just sitting behind a desk. Before Ross she had worked one job after another. She was waiting tables, working seasonal jobs, and she didn’t like the late hours or lack of future. “My life before Ross was really inconsistent and now I have a schedule and consistent paychecks, and now I get to go home every night to my family,” Lauren shared about her experience.

As soon as she started attending classes, Lauren was overwhelmed by how friendly everyone was at the campus. She enjoyed learning how to perform clinical tasks like blood draws, injections, and EKGs. This became even more fun as she built relationships with her classmates and instructors. Her teachers made sure she learned what she needed to know in the field, but they were also there to talk to when she needed someone.

Life after Ross has definitely improved for Lauren. She is able to come home and make dinner for her family instead of being at work until 2 a.m. After graduating from the program she got married and was able to start a family. She is passionate about her career now as a Medical Assistant in a weight control center in a large hospital. “Ross made it easy for me to go to school and start a career,” says Lauren. “I would totally recommend Ross to a friend that is looking for a start on a whole new career and a new life.”

Many students have changed their future through Ross Medical Education Center.
