In Module Three of <a href=\"https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/\">Ross Medical Education Center\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"\/programs\/medical-insurance-billing-and-office-administration\/\">Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration<\/a> program, you will get some opportunities to engage in some eye-opening activities related to fluid and acid-base balances. This is always a highlight for students as they learn about how fluids function in their interactions with each other.<\/p>\n<p>The module also includes medical terminology and the anatomy and physiology of the urinary and digestive systems to include the basics of nutrition.  An ongoing and interesting nutrition activity and presentation are completed. Information on some common medications used for urinary and digestive conditions will be included. Medical terminology and anatomy and physiology are the basis of medical billing and coding. These topics correlate with procedure and diagnosis coding related to urinary and digestive procedures and diseases. The diagnosis and procedure codes are used to complete the claim form to bill many types of insurance companies.<\/p>\n<p>The basics of insurance and insurance terminology as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicaid.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medicaid<\/a>, a type of insurance for the financially needy, are the main focuses of this module. A large part of the module includes skills related to medical office administrative duties. Some of these are communication with many different types of patients, appointment scheduling, managing medical records, patient check in, patient check out, and managing the front office.<\/p>\n<p>The classroom experience is interactive with many varied presentations, discussions, activities, and numerous opportunities to use technology in a variety of ways. Electronic health records and patient management systems are used and ultimately generate insurance claim forms. There are several student resources available to enhance the learning experience including basic keyboarding skills using <a href=\"https:\/\/products.office.com\/en-us\/word\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Word<\/a>, Typing Quick and Easy, <a href=\"https:\/\/products.office.com\/en-us\/excel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Excel<\/a>, a virtual library, StudyWare, vital signs software, electronic claim forms, and many online resources. The module is a great place to gain knowledge while having hands-on experiences.
