\t\t\t\t\"Ross<\/a>The month of November always marks the beginning of the holiday season. Many people and families spend the month preparing to host family and friends or to travel to Thanksgiving meals followed by a string of other holiday celebrations. However, the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Davison, Michigan<\/a> wanted to do more than just that. Instead of just enjoying the holidays themselves, they wanted to help others in their community have something to celebrate. Throughout the month, the students, faculty, and staff at Ross collected food at their campus for the local community.<\/p>\n

For this food drive event the campus chose to benefit a local agency, Outreach East<\/a>. This organization has worked with Ross in years past. As a facility that is supported by the generous help and donations from local families, churches, and businesses, they rely heavily on members of their community. Because of area generosity, they are able to dedicate themselves to helping local individuals and families that find themselves in need of food and other important items. Ross was honored to be a part of that community network that makes the service of the less fortunate in their local area possible.<\/p>\n

The students and staff worked hard throughout the month to bring in canned, non-perishable food items. Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, Outreach East picked up the collection for immediate disbursement. “We’re all thankful for the contributions we can make to the local community,\u201d shared Campus Director Frank Skinner. \u201cOur students and staff are generous people, and truly care about other. It’s nice to work in an environment where charity is fostered and helping others is appreciated.” The Davison campus plans to make this an annual event and looks forward to doing it again next November.<\/p>\n
