\t\t\t\t\"Ross<\/a>It is always an exciting time when graduates from Ross Medical Education Center are able to find a position in their new career that they enjoy and are able to share with others. It is especially exciting when those graduates come back to their campus to share with students, staff, and faculty about their experiences in the field. This winter, graduate Lauren South from the evening Medical Assistant program of Ross Medical Education Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana<\/a> came in to speak with to the current morning Medical Assistant class<\/a> students.<\/p>\n

Full of excitement and looking forward to what the future may hold, Lauren South started her educational endeavor on September 25th, 2014 and successfully graduated from the program in June of 2015. As a former waitress, she was looking forward to something more stable and consistent, and proved to be a very good student. Many of the things that she learned in class at Ross proved to be so important to her future career. Some of the most important were obvious things like clinical skills and medical information. However, other things that her instructors worked hard to prepare her with proved to be just as important: professionalism and good work ethic.<\/p>\n

\"Ross<\/a>Diana Parker, Career Services Representative at the Fort Wayne campus, was in attendance during Lauren\u2019s talk and commented afterwards that \u201cLauren was amazing!\u201d During her time at the campus, Lauren had the opportunity to speak to the morning students about her time spent at Ross as a student and her experience during her Ross externship at Parkview Physicians Group in Avilla, Indiana<\/a>. She even took time to share about her employment at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Albion, Indiana<\/a> as a Medical Assistant.<\/p>\n

The students were very interested as Lauren shared about the kinds of duties she has as a Medical Assistant at Parkview Physicians Group. She also talked about the importance of HIPAA both to patients and to healthcare workers. She noted the necessity of working hard and being dependable, sharing that it is necessary to be on time to work, be a good team player, and to absolutely avoid being on your phone or social media during work hours. Although she shared a lot of information and advice, Lauren made it clear that she loves her career as a Medical Assistant, and when she left, many of the current students expressed their excitement for their own future careers. \t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
