The Ross campus in Grand Rapids and the nearby Ross campus in Kentwood, Michigan came together for some fun and to help out a great cause.

Each year, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation hosts a variety of events including a fundraising walk. So, staff, faculty, and students joined forces to walk in this event with children that are affected by diabetes as well as their families and friends. They also had the opportunity to learn more about this disorder and the ways that it affects the lives of children and those around them. The Ross team also got to enjoy making connections with others within the community.

The two campuses enjoyed the chance to get together and do something meaningful in their community. As the Grand Rapids North campus is newer, it was a great experience to join with the established Kentwood campus and make some connections. It was also another way that Ross Medical Education Center is reaching out into the community to raise awareness, start conversations, and build relationships. The best part is that they can do all this while also providing a great educational experience to their students and fostering a deep appreciation for community service.

This event was especially significant as juvenile diabetes affects people in every location and for the rest of their lives. In fact, every day in the United States, at least 38 children get diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. As a healthcare training school, the Ross staff and students recognize the importance of being aware of research and new health options for their future patients; therefore Ross walked proudly with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and hopes to continue to do so for many years to come.

This fall, two Ross Medical Education Center campuses teamed up to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help find…
Read More

[2
