\t\t\t\t\"RossThis winter, the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Madison Heights, Michigan<\/a> has been very focused on both families and animals in need. Throughout the cold months and short days, students, staff and faculty have kept in mind those in their community that need their help. To make their impact, they have contributed very generously to both Haven House of Oakland County<\/a> as well as Almost Home Animal and Rescue League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"RossNkenge Burkhead from Haven House Oakland County accepted non-perishable food items that will benefit the shelters. This organization also provides counseling and separate care for families in need. Nkenge stated, \u201cwe are always appreciative of good nutritional food that requires little or no preparation so families can focus on getting the counseling and assistance they need.\u201d In addition to non-perishable food items, Ross staff was told that clothing and toiletries are also much needed because sometimes these families come in with nothing.<\/p>\n

To help with the transition, \u201cfirst night bags\u201d are prepared to be given to anyone who is in need of these items. This is along with diapers and formula provided to ensure that infants have continued care as they arrive. Haven House is a greatly appreciated resource for these families as they struggle to get the assistance of which they are in need.<\/p>\n

\"RossAlmost Home Animal & Rescue League is another noteworthy organization that loved receiving the Ross donations this winter. Marla Weingarten, manager of the organization, met with Alvena Lucas, Career Services Student Support Representative, to accept the many toys and pet care needs that were collected. She shared, \u201cAlmost Home loves Ross Medical for their generosity.\u201d She continued by expressing that she looks forward to attending the Ross annual Advisory Board meetings. As a partner that continually calls Ross for placement of externship students, Almost Home Animal and Rescue League is an important connection in the community. Dawn Flynn, Office Assistant, said, \u201cwe felt honored that we were able to be so generous and a big thank you goes out to everyone who contributed!\u201d\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
