For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. For 25 years, Be The Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), has worked to ensure that a cure exists for the thousands diagnosed with blood cancers annually. Caitlin was thrilled to have the opportunity to share with the campus about the exciting things that Be the Match can do.<\/p>\n<p>After learning more about bone marrow transplants, and how Be the Match operates, the Davison campus was quite proud to have 21 students step forward to join the registry. After completing the necessary forms, each student was given three swabs. These swabs will be tested and the results recorded, so that those who signed up will officially be part of the National Bone Marrow Registry. The students were honored to have the opportunity to be a part of a potentially life-saving force for those that need help from a match.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Ross-Medical-Education-Center-Davison-Be-the-Match-2017-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Ross Medical Education Center Davison Be the Match 2017\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-24500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Ross-Medical-Education-Center-Davison-Be-the-Match-2017-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Ross-Medical-Education-Center-Davison-Be-the-Match-2017-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Ross-Medical-Education-Center-Davison-Be-the-Match-2017.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>This is truly a wonderful opportunity that so many can be a part of and many in need can benefit from, and the Davison Campus is grateful to have the opportunity to help those suffering from cancer. Kesondra Ducharme, the lead Instructor for both the <a href=\"\/programs\/medical-assistant\/\">Medical Assistant program<\/a> and <a href=\"\/programs\/medical-insurance-billing-and-office-administration\/\">Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program<\/a> had this to say about the Be The Match presentations, \u201cI love seeing Be The Match every year. It brings awareness to our students on the need for donors, and the process it takes to become one.
