\t\t\t\t\"RossThis October, students in the Dental Assistant program<\/a> at the Ross Medical Education Center Huntsville, Alabama campus<\/a> attended Freedom Day USA<\/a> at Divine Expressions Dentistry in Madison, Alabama<\/a>. This national event was put on to offer free dental cleanings, x-rays, extractions, and fillings for veterans. Freedom Day USA is America\u2019s largest military thank you event. It is one day each year that businesses say thank you by giving free services or gifts to veterans, active military members, and their families.<\/p>\n

\"RossDivine Expressions was the only dental office in the state of Alabama who participated in this event, and they asked Huntsville\u2019s Dental Assistant program to assist them. It was a very easy offer to say yes to, and the staff and students were excited to be able to help out and get some hands on experience! They were able to help 50 patients throughout the day. Students from the Dental Assistant program were thrilled with the opportunity to assist at chairside and with sterilization, and the newest students helped at the front desk. A very busy day left the class feeling rewarded by being able to help so many veterans in such a short time.<\/p>\n

\"RossMany of the students expressed their enthusiasm for having been a part of the event. \u201cI\u2019m still excited!\u201d shared current student Katie Sturdivant. \u201cI loved working with the Divine Expressions staff.\u201d Classmate Dominique Grays agreed, \u201cIt was a great learning experience, great atmosphere and very hands on.\u201d \u201cIt was a quality learning experience,\u201d said Jay Beebe. And another student, Katie Jamar, expressed her thoughts about the day sayng, \u201cit was a very positive and helpful environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
