\t\t\t\t\"RossThe students, faculty, and staff of Ross Medical Education Center in Davison, Michigan<\/a> recently volunteered at the North End Soup Kitchen<\/a>. On a snowy winter day, the Davison Ross campus teamed up with another community group to be able to help prepare dinner. While all hands were on deck in the kitchen to be able to make goulash, green beans, and salad, some of the crew was in a rush to peel and core a bushel of apples. The apples were needed for the dessert. It was great to see both teams and strangers working together to complete a common goal.<\/p>\n

Campus Director Franklin Skinner shared about the experience, \u201cthe best part of being able to volunteer at a soup kitchen is that you feel a part of something larger. It was great to see our students jump at the chance to be part of this experience.\u201d The Davison campus has served at the North End Soup Kitchen before and always looks forward to getting to be a part of their community in this way. The Ross team enjoys serving in both the kitchen and the dining room, this time serving 30-40 local residents during their time at the soup kitchen. It was especially enjoyable getting to work alongside other service minded community members.<\/p>\n

The North End Soup Kitchen is a part of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan<\/a>, located in the Flint, Michigan area. Monday through Saturday, they serve two meals a day and Sunday they serve one meal to the less fortunate in the local area. Founded in 1981, due to increased demand, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan continues to expand through community grassroots efforts throughout Genesee County. The North End Soup Kitchen is one of the partner agencies that serves in the local community.<\/p>\n
