In addition to providing these services, they also run Emerson Dog Park which gives space for dogs both large and small to run and play together! When it comes to adopting a pet, the first thing that is required is the completion of an adoption contract. Then, an adoptive family must ensure that their new pet is spayed or neutered within 30 days of their adoption with an adoption voucher given by the shelter. Each animal that is adopted or reclaimed from the Muncie Animal Shelter is microchipped and registered for ownership identification.

“When we asked the animal shelter staff how we could serve them in the best way, they told us it is very hard for them to wash all of the food bowls and litter boxes,” said Office Assistant Savannah Johnson. “We rolled up our sleeves and started with that task first!” The Ross students and staff worked together to wash 75 dog and cat bowls and washed and dried over 40 cat litter boxes.

They enjoyed walking the dogs and took them to a room where they were able to play with them.
