\t\t\t\t\"RossThe Ross Medical Education Center Davison, Michigan campus<\/a> is committed to the story behind the 2011 New York Times article: \u201cThe Tire Iron and the Tamale.\u201d The story talks about a American man who was already having a bad day when suddenly his car broke down. He was able to find a helping hand from an immigrant. The new American citizen spoke broken English but took the time to go above and beyond to help the man. At the end, the man tried to pay for his help, but he wouldn\u2019t accept. Before they parted ways, he said to the man in broken English, \u201cToday you, Tomorrow me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ross Davison staff really took to this story and has been trying to go above and beyond to help whenever they can. Those four simple words have defined the way that the Davison campus takes to helping out the community. Like Career Development Representative Dane Cobb said, \u201cwhen you have the ability to, it is best to help out in any way possible because one day it might be you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"RossBy sticking to this motto, the Davison campus partnered with Two Men and a Truck<\/a> for its 4th annual Mother\u2019s Day campaign entitled Movers For Moms. According to the Two Men and Truck website: \u201cAs part of its Movers for Moms\u00ae program<\/a>, Two Men and a Truck\u00ae locations nationally partner with local businesses and organizations to collect essential care items for women staying in local domestic abuse or homeless shelters. Once donations are collected, Two Men and a Truck\u00ae will pick up and deliver the items to partnering shelters around Mother\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Differing slightly from location to location, donations are often determined by the local shelters. However, their lists of needs often include: soap, shampoos and conditioners, hair products, pillows, blankets, bedding, socks and slippers, and a variety of other common items. The campus worked hard to gather as many items as possible to help with this worthy cause. Then, representatives from the local Two Men and a Truck facility came by to pick them up. Finally, they then delivered the items to shelters around Mother\u2019s Day to help local moms get back on their feet and to remind them that they aren\u2019t alone.<\/p>\n

This the fourth year that Ross Medical Education Center has participated, and it was once again a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to give back. Students also encouraged family friends to stop by and drop off some essential items to make Mother\u2019s Day a little brighter for these local families. \t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
