\t\t\t\t\"RossThis spring, the Ross Medical Education Center Erlanger, Kentucky campus<\/a> started an annual drive for children\u2019s books called Lil Books of Love. After the drive, the morning Medical Assistant class<\/a> donates the books to the Brighton Center<\/a> located in Newport, Kentucky. The Brighton Center assists those in need, whether it is providing a safe place for women and children, or allowing families the opportunity of becoming self-sufficient.<\/p>\n

The Brighton Center also supports families by offering daycare to parents who are job searching, or assisting those who are homeless. In order to continue offering all of these meaningful services, they are always looking for volunteers. Ms. Khan, the lead instructor for both the Medical Assistant program and Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program<\/a> in Erlanger takes the students and donated books to the Brighton Center. Once there, many of the students also volunteer their time by reading to the little ones. The children love being read to, and the students love promoting literacy to the children.<\/p>\n

According to their website, \u201cBrighton Center celebrates victories as families move toward self-sufficiency. Every victory is aided by the compassion of our donors and the commitment of our volunteers. Through our work together we can make a difference in improving the quality of life for those we serve.\u201d They go on to tell just how much the time of a volunteer is worth to them, and those they serve, \u201cEvery hour you volunteer is like a $24.14 donation \u2013 that means that, when you spend an hour mentoring a youth or working in our Choice Food Pantry or reading a book to a child, you save the Center $24.14. That\u2019s over $190 for one day of volunteerism!\u201d Last year, the center enjoyed hosting over 3,000 volunteers that helped them to make an impact on their community.<\/p>\n

Campus Director Angela McNutt shared, \u201cwe here at Ross in Erlanger, Kentucky are very proud of our students and the compassion they show through doing and giving what they can for our community.\u201d The campus plans to continue working closely with this important local organization. \t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
