\t\t\t\t\"RossIn the Medical Assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center<\/a>, students receive instruction on a variety of administrative and clinical skills required to pursue a career in the medical assisting field. Also, staff and faculty members at each campus go the extra mile to provide essential knowledge of community-wide programs and resources that are essential to the well-being of the patients these future graduates will serve. To that end, Medical Assistant Instructors Brooke Leyher and Lori Normington of the Ross Medical Education Center Lansing, Michigan campus<\/a> eagerly coordinated a field trip for their students. On July 18th, Mrs. Leyher, Mrs. Normington and their students embarked on an eye-opening experience when they visited Ingham County\u2019s Mobile Health Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In May of 2017, Leslie Polack of Sparrow TV<\/a> announced: \u201cOur Mobile Health Clinic delivers care to underserved areas of the Mid-Michigan region and is back again in partnership with the Ingham County Health Department<\/a> and Dean Transportation<\/a>.\u201d Sparrow provides the attending physicians and Dean Transportation provides the drivers. This year, students were able to see for themselves the positive impact the Mobile Health Clinic has on Greater Lansing residents. According to their website, the Ingham County Mobile Health Center offers \u201chealth screenings and services at no charge.\u201d Prospective patients are asked to bring their membership cards if they have Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance coverage. \u201cScreenings include: HIV, Behavioral health, Blood pressure, Body mass index, Cholesterol, Diabetes.\u201d Additional services include: \u201cImmunizations, Flu Shots, Education, Referrals.\u201d<\/p>\n
