{"id":8861,"date":"2014-06-09T15:21:55","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T19:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/?p=8861"},"modified":"2014-06-09T15:21:55","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T19:21:55","slug":"ross-taylor-hosts-childrens-hospital-coloring-book-crayon-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/blog\/ross-taylor-hosts-childrens-hospital-coloring-book-crayon-drive\/","title":{"rendered":"Ross in Taylor Hosts Children&#8217;s Hospital Coloring Book &#038; Crayon Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/community_service_projects_002.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/community_service_projects_002.jpg\" alt=\"Ross Taylor students organize coloring books and crayons\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8871\" \/><\/a>During the month of February, the staff and students at the <a href=\"https:\/\/rosseducation.edu\/campus\/mi\/taylor.php\" title=\"Taylor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor, Michigan&#8217;s Ross Medical Education Center Campus<\/a> collected coloring books and crayons for the small patients at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrensdmc.org\" title=\"Children's Hospital of Michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan<\/a>. They were delivered to the Foundation Office where staff representatives, Cari and Elizabeth, warmly accepted the contribution. The coloring books and crayons will be used for many different purposes including their upcoming Spring baskets and that they would also be broken down into activity packets to be distributed to children in several departments of Children\u2019s Hospital &#8211; the ER, the Admissions Office, and to help occupy children who are waiting for a procedure to begin. In his thank you letter to Ross, President and CEO of Children\u2019s Hospital, Tony Werner stated \u201cYour thoughtfulness and generosity will help brighten the lives of pediatric patients in our community who face seemingly insurmountable chal lenges. Because of you, children and their families are able to bravely face the future with brightened smiles and lightened hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan\u2019s website, \u201cSince 1886, the Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient and family-centered environment. This 228-bed facility has an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Staff representatives stated that the Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan goes through 2,000 activity packs on average per month!
