On Saturday, March 7th, the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Davison participated in the local health fair sponsored by the City of Davison Downtown Development Authority. The event vendors exhibited and distributed information and provided various demonstrations in the areas of health, wellness, education, fitness and personal care. The health fair had approximately 30 vendors from the area including well recognized names like The American Red Cross, The American Cancer Society, Michigan Blood, Walgreens, and Hurley Wellness Services.
It was a very successful event for the Ross campus in a number of ways. They got the opportunity to share about admissions and programs with potential students, connect with area offices and potential externship sites, and discuss important topics with a number of healthcare professionals in the area. It was a well-attended community event and the Davison campus loved being a part of it. As a result of the event, Ross staff will be participating in The American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life of Davison” scheduled for June 6th and 7th at Davison High School. In fact, Kate O’Malley said, “I have all the camping gear and other necessities for the very beneficial Relay for Life 24 hour event.”
The location of the event was a church gymnasium and was laid out in a fashion that allowed for good traffic flow. Many members of the Ross Davison staff were able to attend the event. Among them were Assistant Campus Director of Education, Michelle Lambaria–Robson, Shina Sekrenes with Ross Online, Kate O’Malley, Pharmacy Technician Faculty, and Bob Keeler, Campus Director. The staff used a rotation where a couple of them manned the Ross booth, and the others were able to spend time visiting other vendors and networking. There were a number of attendees that live in a very close proximity to the campus, were aware of Ross, and pleased to see their participation in the Davison community. All of the Ross staff members agreed that this was a very worthwhile event and they look forward to attending in the future.
