It is with great pleasure that we at Ross present our December 2018 Outstanding Alumni of the Month Award to Michelle Stuut.
Michelle graduated from the Pharmacy Technician program at Ross Medical Education Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. During Michelle’s time with Ross, she overcame many obstacles, including self-doubt and private health issues. Michelle was determined to succeed and made sure to be in class every day, even when she didn’t want to. She struggled through the math module but ultimately conquered it. She discovered, along the way, that it wasn’t as difficult as she anticipated. Michelle went from being slightly afraid of the decision she made to attend Ross to an overwhelming desire to get into the workforce as a Pharmacy Technician.
Michelle completed her externship with OptiMed Specialty Pharmacy and ultimately was hired by them based on her skills, positive attitude, and behavior exhibited while an extern. As an employee, Michelle has had the opportunity to learn many aspects of the Specialty Pharmacy and she has become, what they refer to, as a “Jill of all trades.” They know they can count on her to fill in any position as needed. Michelle shows up for work with a positive attitude and desire to help others.
As a student, Michelle was consistently receiving academic achievements from Ross. During the Professional Module, she had the opportunity to complete her Mock Interview with the Human Resources Director of her current employer. She was requested by OptiMed Specialty Pharmacy that very day. They were very impressed and offered her a position within the first two weeks of externship. The Human Resources Director continues to communicate with the campus regarding Michelle and how much they value her as an employee.
