The facility is always very willing to host students and ensure that they have a great experience. What do you like about Ross externs?
They are very well prepared and very professional. Coming in as a Ross extern, they know what they have been taught. It’s just wonderful to have someone come in and feel comfortable and confident. They know what they need to know; you have just to show them how the office is run. I have not had one problem with a student saying “this is too hard” or “I don’t know how to do that.” If it’s new, they pick it right up and keep going.
What is something you like about working with Ross?
They are very accommodating as far as our needs. they are very equipped for what we need. I am on the board, so i have been there and seen the facitilites – it is very updated. we like them.
How is the Career Services staff at Ross?
They are really wonderful. Anytime we have needed to hire someone, they send applications right over; they don’t hesitate.
How would you describe your experience with having externs from Ross?
It’s a delight really. They are a big help, and it’s educational for them of course. But it’s also educational for us, because they bring all the newest information about the field.
Overall, how would you assess the success rate of Ross externs and graduates?
The externs that come through our office do really well; we haven’t had a bad one yet. Most of the grads that we have hired are still here unless they have moved. We have a few working here now.
What’s the main advantage of hiring a Ross graduate?
They are fresher. If you hire right out of school, you can train them to how your practice is run. If someone is from a different office, they compare or want to do things their way. Also, I can tell the difference between Ross grads and other grads; they have an entirely different attitude. They want to be there.
If it weren’t for Ross graduates, how would your office be affected?
It would be a lot more work for us. It would be difficult to find people in this field because we get a lot of our employees from Ross.
