As a result of collecting 2,710 food items for the first-ever Together We Can food drive, Ross in Fort Wayne took a pie in the face.
Faculty and staff at Ross Medical Education Center in Fort Wayne are a good-natured bunch, so when it came time to give students an incentive for donating items for the Together We Can food drive, they knew exactly how to engage participation.
On Monday April 4, donning garbage bags and shower caps, Ross staff were gently pelted with cream pies by day and evening students whose names were selected at random from a raffle jar.
“Everyone was excited to begin with to support the AIDS Task Force, but we wanted to given them even more of an incentive,” said Dawn Modlin, Campus Director, Fort Wayne. “We’ve all been in sticky situations before, but this one was well worth it,” Modlin said.
In the end, the campus donated 2,710 non-perishable items and was rewarded with a pizza party. Two dedicated students had a combined donation of more than 900 items. Thanks to all who went above and beyond to make our food drive a huge success!
