Many Ross Medical Education Center students lead very busy lives. Many of them work full-time, and some are also working hard to raise their children. When Marci Dehring enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program in Saginaw, Michigan. According to Marci, “I decided to attend Ross Medical Education Center and pursue a career as a pharmacy technician because I want to better myself and the lives of my five children.” As the single mother to five daughters, providing for them is her top priority. She knew that the best way to do that was through receiving a solid education in a viable field.
Before coming to Ross, Marci was just trying to make ends meet, but she knew she needed something that would open up more doors for her to have a career. She decided Ross was the perfect avenue through which she would be able to achieve her goals and take care of her family. Although returning to school later in life presented many challenges, Marci worked hard to meet and overcome each and every one. She never stopped to feel sorry for herself or think of anything except being successful.
When she first started, she wasn’t sure that she could do it. She quickly discovered that she could incorporate pursuing her education into her extremely busy life and raising her girls. “I want to show my girls that regardless of your age or situation, it is possible to achieve all of your goals,” she shared about her successful completion. “I have proven to myself that anything is possible if you are dedicated and motivated to accomplish your goal.”
Marci proved to herself, her daughters, and the staff and student at Ross that “it is through hard work, dedication and perseverance that I am securing a brighter future for all of us.” She gave her all while attending the program at Ross and then after during her externship. In fact, she so impressed her externship site that she was offered a position upon completion. The Ross Saginaw campus could not be more proud of Marci and all that she overcame and accomplished.
