Last spring, Stormmie DeRosia came to Ross Medical Education Center in New Baltimore to achieve her dream by pursuing training in the Medical Assistant program. Even though it had always been something that she wanted to do, it was pushed to the back burner for other things. However, she had finally decided to return to school after many years to accomplish her goals of becoming an allied health and medical professional. Although it was new and exciting, going back to school was not always easy. During her time at Ross, Stormmie persevered through many challenges in order to continue to attend school and be as successful as possible throughout her journey.
Even when her struggles seemed to outweigh the successes, Stormmie was always able to maintain a positive attitude. It was that attitude that kept her motivated and focused on her end goal. That focus and commitment definitely paid off; throughout the duration of the program, she maintained near near perfect attendance and also ended with consistently high scores on all classwork and exams. In the classroom, she was always well liked by her peers, and they looked up to her for guidance and encouragement. She set a great example for everyone in class, constantly cheering on her peers and encouraging them to continue to strive for more.
Stormmie completed her externship experience at Anchor Bay Clinic Family Medicine. It was a great experience and excellent fit; she loved being there and they were very happen with her work and skills. In fact, upon graduation, she was offered a full time position at the location. She enthusiastically accepted the offer and has loved working there ever since. Although coming into the program she faced many challenges and had been out of school for quite awhile, she overcame the odds against her and proved that dedication and passion will win out in the end.
