Ross Medical Education Center celebrates new Grand Rapids area location with diabetes awareness events and ribbon-cutting.
Ross Medical Education Center celebrated the opening of its new Grand Rapids-area location on Monday, November 26, with an array of informative and fun, health-oriented activities open to the community, Ross students and staff, and their family members. The new Ross campus is located at 4528 Breton S.E., across from Horrocks Market.
Events Spotlight Diabetes Awareness and Prevention
The grand opening celebration started at 12:30 p.m. with speaker Dr. Jean Norris, educator and author of “No Sugar Added – Straight Talk From Those Living with Diabetes.” Norris shared her personal insights into living with diabetes for the past 25 years, her positive philosophy and her commitment to supporting diabetes awareness programs and research.
After a 1 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony, with members of the Kentwood Chamber of Commerce, Ross students and guests participated in a diabetes awareness balloon launch, followed by a onemile “Walk It Off” diabetes awareness walk ending at the campus.
“Ross has been a part of the Grand Rapids area for more than 20 years,” said Campus Director Ryan Middleton. “As we open our new campus doors to the public, we’re thrilled to share our commitment to health education and awareness, including Dr. Norris’s personal story of inspiration, with our students, staff and our neighbors.”
