More than 100 kids and their parents visited Ross Medical Education Center in Portage on July 28 for “Healthy Kids Day,” an event designed to encourage children to adopt healthy habits and stay fit. Ross students and staff hosted a variety of educational activities and invited the Portage Police and Fire Department and Life EMS Ambulance to join in, too. Kids got to play games, learn about the food pyramid and hear their heartbeat in a stethoscope. They were able to explore the fire engine and ambulance, while trying on an fire fighter’s uniform. Healthy snacks were also provided.
