For the second year in a row, Ross Medical Education Center in Roosevelt Park put together a team for the Grand Rapids Color Run. After participating in the run last year, the “Ross Runagades” once again came together and showed their stuff while having some colorful fun. The team was made up of 25 Ross employees, graduates, and some family members and friends that wanted to join in on the fun and represent Ross. The team was proud to let the community know who Ross is and what they’re about.
The Color Run is also known as “The Happiest 5K on the Planet” and anyone who has run it understands why! It is very unique kind of race; throughout the race, paint is sprayed on runners, and at the end, each runner is given a bag of powdered paint that they get to toss in the air in a cloud of color. Everyone leaves happy, colorful, tired, and proud of a job well done. The race seeks to encourage healthiness, happiness, and individuality. Due to the unique experience it offers, the Color Run has now become the largest event series in the world, multiplying their events, enrollments, and donations since beginning in 2012. Also, they have donated more than three million dollars to charity since being established.
The Ross team once again had a wonderful time being a part of this event. They each commented on the fun that they had with bonding with their friends, family, coworkers, and classmates. There was a lot of laughter shared amongst the team as well, especially as they all got covered in a vast variety of colors! This year at the Grand Rapids Color Run there were more than 11,000 participants, and Ross was excited to be a part of what so many in their community were involved in.
