This March, staff from the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Davison, Michigan attended the 5th Annual Davison Downtown Development Authority Wellness Expo. The wellness expo is organized each year by the Davison Downtown Development Authority. The First Baptist Church in Davison graciously decided to once again host the event. Additionally, local organizations registered to attend this Saturday event.
The wellness expo is always an important event that is free to the public in order to encourage individuals and families to attend. In addition to informing citizens on a variety of important health topics, most of the booths also have something to give away to guests of all ages, from chapstick to travel mugs. Each of the various sponsors and vendors have something to do with health and wellness.
At their booth, representatives from Ross Medical Education Center in Davison were able to answer general questions about what the school offers. They discussed and gave out information regarding their programs and how the classes are structured. Ross Davison’s Campus Director Frank Skinner, Lead Dental Assistant program Instructor Carol Hayes, and Career Services Representative Trisha Hernandez represented the campus this year at the expo. They also shared that they look forward to attending next year’s event.
Campus director Frank Skinner said, “this is my second year attending on behalf of Ross, and I look forward to it each time. The turnout is always impressive and Diane Millington organizes a great event. Everything is arranged and she takes care of her vendors so they can focus on the visitors. We got to meet visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Knowing that we can help a someone start a career in the allied health field is a good thing for everyone.” Other vendors included insurance agencies, health food stores, chiropractic services, a local bank, a senior citizen advocacy agency, financial planners, and more.
