This May, representatives from the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Davison, Michigan visited the Lapeer office of Michigan Works!. Campus Director Frank Skinner and Assistant Director of Admissions Angela Jamison presented to the Lapeer Michigan Works! office on what is offered at Ross Medical Education Center Davison campus. After this meeting concluded, Michigan Works! representative Wendy Conroy asked if she could visit the Ross campus and meet with students to share some of what Michigan Works! offers. A follow up date was set for later in the month.
On the big day, students were invited to speak with Ms. Conroy. Students were very excited to hear about the resources that Michigan Works! can offer. Some of those resources include assistance with resume building and making connections with employers for potential interviews. Wendy brought eligibility information for the Ross students and discussed their eligibility with them. The Davison campus is looking forward to establishing a long-standing relationship with this outstanding organization. They hope to come alongside one another to better assist those looking to change their careers with Michigan Works!
Campus Director Frank Skinner commented, “we want Michigan Works! to think of us when they have clients who need a new career path; we can work together and help more people. The advantage is that both organizations have an efficient application process.” Assistant Director of Admissions Angela Jamison added, “it’s partnerships like these that make this campus a great place to attend. It’s nice to have a better understanding of what resources Michigan Works! has to offer for our prospective students. Not only are we helping them change their lives; but also providing them with resourceful information to help make the transition easier, for whatever life situation they may be encountering.” Students were grateful for the information and the connection formed with Michigan Works!
