The Ross Medical Education Center campus in Brighton, MI loves to be a part of the community and give back when they can. The month of February means a lot to Medical Assistant students as it is National Heart Awareness month. Turning the corner to Valentine’s Day this year, everyone’s hearts were filled with compassion. They decided to share that compassion with others! Administrative Instructor Ms. Schell said “No one should be without a valentine on Valentine’s Day.” So, the Medical Assistant students sought out the help of the whole campus to help make individualized homemade Valentine’s cards the week before Valentine’s Day to be given out during a visit to Independence Village. Independence Village is a local senior living facility in Brighton.
Students also purchased festive cookies and handed them out with the homemade Valentine’s Day Cards on February 14th. Day student Samantha Vanostran stated “It’s really nice to see that love stands the test of time”, and even though it was a cold day the residents warmed the hearts of the students and staff and made this Valentine’s Day a special one.
