It’s always exciting to have visitors at our Ross campuses. However, it is very meaningful when those visitors are also representatives to Congress, helping to shape the future legislative direction of our states and nation. This fall, the Ross Medical Education Center Cincinnati, Ohio campus was thrilled to receive a visit from Congressman Steve Chabot. Students, staff, and faculty were delighted to meet Congressman Chabot and hear from him about what is going on in their state and nation. They also enjoyed getting to share about Ross, their excitement for their future careers, and all that they are learning in their classes.
Congressman Chabot is an politician and lawyer from Ohio. He has served as a Representative for Ohio’s 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2011. In addition to currently serving in the United States House of Representatives, he has previously served on the Cincinnati City Council. Because of his extensive experience in the city of Cincinnati, it was very meaningful to have him come by the campus and get to experience firsthand what Ross students do and the future careers for which they are training.
As part of his visit, Representative Chabot participated in a pinning ceremony with students in the Dental Assistant program as well as a reception in the break area where cookies and punch were served. The students were excited to learn that Mr. Chabot’s wife is a former Dental Hygienist. Because of his wife’s experience, he had an even better understanding of the importance of dental assistants, and other healthcare support staff, in the workplace. “Mr. Chabot also visited every classroom and learned a lot about each of the programs and what we do here at Ross,” shared Regional Vice President Sherry Feltson. “It was a great visit and a pleasure to showcase our industry in a positive manner!”
