Ross Medical Education Center in Lansing, doesn’t only care about people, they also care about animals. As part of their January contribution to the community, they hosted a pet supply drive for The Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS). More than 10,000 animals go through CAHS’ doors every year. All are provided with food, medical care, a safe place to live and plenty of TLC from their staff and volunteers.
At Ross, we know that working in the medical field requires a lot of sacrifice and contribution of time and resources; this pet supply drive is only one of the many efforts preparing our students for a lifetime of giving.
From January 20-31st items were collected at the campus. Faculty and students alike joined in donating numerous items for dogs and cats sheltered at the Humane Society. Students are always thrilled to help those in need as it is in their nature as health professionals. Lead Dental Assistant Instructor, Colleen Mee, was extremely excited when she heard of the drive as the Capital Area Humane Society is very important to her.
The play mice, rope toys, and yummy treats were much appreciated by all of the Bellas and Buddies of Greater Lansing. The Dental Assistant students were excited to find that their class would be awarded a pizza party for donating the most items!
