In order to support the theme and make it a fun community event, participants were encouraged to decorate floats, wagons, or themselves with anything and everything having to do with Dr. Seuss and his characters. The Ross New Baltimore team could be seen marching down Main Street from Beech to Park Street wearing their red t-shirts emblazoned with:
“You think going to school is for kids?
What a loss!
Follow me
and you’ll see
the magic happens at Ross!”
The excited children on the sidelines received Ross pens, sticky notes, flashlight keychains, Big Chew bubble gum, and toothbrushes. One of the biggest hits was a student in the Veterinary Assistant program who decided to dress up as the Cat in the Hat. She walked alongside the Ross team passing out candy along with her four legged friend, Dozer! Another well-loved and exciting item was Ross Cat in the Hat tattoos that were passed out to children along the parade route! When the team needed reinforcements for the supplies they were passing out, they knew to stock up from the Veterinary Assistant program team and Dental Assistant program team decorated wagons.
“It was a close match, I don’t know what was brighter – the smiles on the children waiting to get their Ross goodies or the team New Baltimore smiles! Noreen Bishoff, Dental Assistant program Instructor at Ross in New Baltimore, shared about the event, “Getting the word out for the New Baltimore campus: the magic happens at Ross – just ask how! It was a great sunny day for everyone!”
