From the first week in December to the first day students returned to campus after the holiday break, students and staff at the Ross Medical Education Center campus in Saginaw, MI donated infant/children’s hats and gloves! The items were hung on a tree in the lobby area and were eventually donated to local pediatric offices where they could be distributed to families as needed. In addition to the donated items, the Saginaw Career Services department won a contest that secured a monetary donation to the Child Abuse and Neglect Council (CAN Council) in Saginaw. Their mission is to build communities where children are free from abuse and neglect.
Whether you are a staff member, a student at Ross, or a graduate, ask yourself this: Why Ross? One of the overwhelming answers that we hear when this topic is discussed is that our students want to make a positive change in their lives and that staff members enjoy being a position to help people make that change. It is obvious from the activities and events at all Ross campuses, and the efforts from the entire Ross family, that we all enjoy reaching out to others as well.
Together, we can all make our communities better! This quote resonates that theme well: “Any society, any nation, is judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members — the last, the least, the littlest.” ~Cardinal Roger Mahony, In a 1998 letter, Creating a Culture of Life

It’s been a long, cold winter in northern Michigan but our hearts always remain warm for those in need.
