- Michele Ford and Chance McNulty of the Madison Heights campus are joined by Ellen Waltos, former Ross student and volunteer at the Macomb Homeless Coalition. Students and staff donated more than 200 items to benefit the Coalition in December.
Michigan winters can be brutally cold, so Ross Medical Education Center at 29429 John R teamed up with the Macomb Homeless Coalition to bring warm clothes to the community.
In just a few short weeks – and just in time for the holidays – Ross collected more than 200 warm clothing items for the Coalition, located at 33222 Groesbeck Highway, Suite 201 in Fraser.
Students and staff donated hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, sweatpants and coats for all ages.
“We’re pleased to know that our donation will help needy families be a little warmer this winter,” said Erik VanDyck, Assistant Campus Director, Ross.
Individuals in immediate need of shelter should call 1-800-A-SHELTER (1-800-274-3583) or the United Way Referral Line at 2-1-1 to arrange for a temporary emergency shelter stay.
