Ross instructors are carefully selected and tend to be quite impressive both in their knowledge and in their passion. They are experienced in their fields and passionate about training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Rose Cramer has been an instructor in the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program at Ross Medical Education Center in Ontario, Ohio since September of 2014. Rose holds an associate’s degree in Medical Secretary from Terra Community College and an associate’s degree in Health Information Technology from DeVry University.
In addition to her expertise in her field, Rose believes in Ross and what the company stands for by changing the lives of our students. She demonstrates integrity, loyalty, and dependability to Ross students, staff, and other faculty members. She is also employed as a medical coder at Avita Health Systems, a local conglomerate company that hosts Ross students for externship and also hires some graduates when finished with externship. Rose is invested in Ross. She cares about her students and goes above and beyond her duties as an instructor. Congratulations Rose on your Faculty Special Recognition Award!
We reached out to Rose to hear directly from her about her experience with Ross and as an instructor. Read her responses below:
How long have you been at Ross as an instructor?
I have been here almost 2 years.
How did you get your start in teaching and why it is important to you?
I got my start actually teaching at church Sunday school and homeschooling my children. I think it is important to me because I have seen teachers giving up on their students and no one should ever be given up on. Anyone can learn if someone is willing to help them and do whatever it takes to get that accomplished.
What is your favorite thing about being an instructor at Ross?
When they finish school and they get the job they really want and you know you had a small part in them achieving their goal.
What is a piece of advice you try to convey to all your students to help them succeed?
To never give up on their dream – keep trying and be willing to start anywhere to get your foot in the door.
What are you passionate about personally?
I am passionate about always learning!
Who inspires you to be great?
I am inspired by God and my students.
Share a positive memory about your experience at Ross that stands out to you. Why is that memory special to you?
After I accepted the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration instructor position, I actually got scared and told Ms. Barker that I didn’t think this was a job for me. She encouraged me to try it at least. That memory is special because I faced the unknown fear, and now I know I’m right where I always want to be.
What is something most people don’t know about working as an instructor at Ross?
I think a lot of people would be surprised to know about how much work is really involved in being a good instructor.
What is the most rewarding part of being an instructor here?
When students succeed!!
