Staff, faculty, and students of Ross Medical Education Center of Lansing, Michigan eagerly accepted a special opportunity to help others in the community when they were asked to participate in Two Men and a Truck’s Movers for Moms Mother’s Day Drive once again this year. Throughout the month of April and the first week of May, members of the Ross Lansing campus joined together to collect necessities that will impact the lives of mothers in need throughout the Greater Lansing Area. As the drive came to an end, everyone was delighted at the number and variety of new goods that will be made available for distribution throughout the community this Mother’s Day.
Rena-Marie Valencia, the morning Instructor in the Lansing Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration class, rallied with her class to donate several bags of essential and fun items for local moms. On behalf of her class, Rena shared this: “We are all mothers in this class and by the grace of God we are able to help mothers in need.” Time and again, the Ross Lansing staff, faculty, and students have shown their considerable generosity toward others, and this drive was no different. Items donated included bottles of shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, spa-like soaps, toothpaste and toothbrushes, paper towels, and bright, colorful spring-inspired dish towels and placemats. Several items of new clothing, including t-shirts, tops, pants, and purses rounded out the donations to include something for just about everyone!
