During the first two weeks of December, students and staff at the Saginaw, MI campus collected non-perishable foods as well as general home & toiletry items. All of the items gathered were donated to a local pantry, Grace Baptist Church’s The Grace Pantry, that opens their doors at 5pm on Thursdays to community members in need. Most of the time the line begins to form at 3pm which is reflective of the fact that now more than ever there are people right in our communities in need of assistance.
Over 600 items were collected and the morning Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration class contributed 182 of them! Furthermore, the giving spirit continues as students have asked if they can continue to bring items to donate. The Ross Medical Education Center Saginaw campus has been so impacted with what a little effort with a big group can do to make a big difference to people who need simple items to feed their families or send their kids to school in clean clothes. Every Ross campus is like a family and the Saginaw campus is no different as everyone was happy to work together to contribute as a team to a great cause.
